Nebullam Advances to Final Round of IFTNEXT Food Disruption Challenge


From a field of 65 applicants, only 6 companies, including ISU Startup Factory Cohort II member Nebullam, will be advancing to the finals of the IFTNEXT Food Disruption Challenge. The competition was created to help startup/emerging food and technology related companies gain traction and recognition in their markets.

The pitch competition will take place in Chicago on July 17, 2018. Daymond John, from ABC's Shark Tank will emcee the event. Six judges will select one finalist to be awarded the IFTNEXT Future Food Disruptor of the Year award. The recipient of this award will receive a $25,000 cash prize. Attendees of the session will also select a People's Choice finalist who will also receive a $5,000 prize.

In addition, finalists will receive publicity and exposure to potential investors and collaborators. Judges include:

  • Jennifer Bentz - SVP of R&D, Innovation, and Insights for Tyson Foods, Inc.

  • Jeff Grogg – Founder & Managing Director of JPG Resources

  • J. Skyler Fernandes - Managing Director of Investments, Cleveland Avenue

  • Lenny Lebovich - Founder and CEO of PRE® BRANDS

  • John Ruff - Past President, Institute of Food Technologists (2012-2013) and former SVP of Global Quality, Scientific Affairs and Nutrition, for Kraft Foods

  • Natalie Shmulik - CEO of The Hatchery, Chicago
